Core Stability Exercises involve little to no movement in the lower back and are used to teach your body how to be stable so that you have less pressure on your back and move more efficiently. Core-stability training begins with learning to co-contract the transverse abdominus and multifidus muscles effectively. This is called abdominal hallowing.
Core Strength Exercises differ from stability exercises in that strength exercise move through the full range of motion and resistance is added to continually challenge the abs and low back to get stronger.
Ordinary abdominal exercises such as crunches and leg lifts focus on the superficial abdominal muscles and do not teach the body to coordinate different muscle groups during activity.
Core exercises enable many muscles to work together, building functional strength.
It is recommended you use the Medx Core Spinal fitness system twice or three times a week and a session only takes half hour once you are trained. You must first have a consultation/induction which assesses your specific needs, you are then set up on the equipment and your specific requirements are recorded. You are put through the MEDX Core fitness system and assessed throughout and again afterwards. When you are deemed proficient in the safe use, you are given authorisation to use MEDX unsupervised, two sessions supervised is generally enough for general strengthening.
Once proficient with the equipment, a session will only take 30 mins.
